Pizza – It’s All About the Cheese

When you think of pizza, what really gets your mouth watering? Is it the dough? The sauce? The toppings? If you’re like most people, it’s the cheese. There’s something wonderful about melty, stretchy cheese. At Social Pie in Dallas, we offer a wide selection of cheese options for you to choose from. Each has their own unique flavor profile and texture.

Feta Cheese/Goat Feta

This crumbly cheese is traditional to Greece. Made from brined sheep’s milk or a mixture of goat’s and sheep’s milk, it adds salt and tang to any pizza.

Goat Cheese

Also called, chevre, goat cheese is the whitest of white color and usually smooth with a mild taste. On a pizza, it’s melt in your mouth good.

This aged yellow cheese is native to Holland and made from cow’s milk. It’s nutrient rich and one of the most popular cheeses in the world. The dense, crumbly texture is great on top of a pizza!

Native to the La Mancha region of Spain, this buttery cheese is made from sheep’s milk and aged for 60 days to two years. The random air pockets create a perfect melt on top of your pizza.

Parmesan is a hard, dry cheese native to Italy. Traditionally, an extensive process is used to create this cow’s milk cheese. The savory flavor combines well with any pizza topping.

Ricotta Salata

Another fabulous Italian cheese. It’s made from the whey part of cow’s milk and presents with a milky white color. The firm texture holds up well on a pizza and the salty taste is perfect with any topping selection.

In the US, this is the cheese we usually think of on pizza. It’s also an Italian cheese, traditionally made from buffalo milk. At our Dallas pizzeria, we offer sliced and shredded mozzarella options.

Try each of these amazing cheeses on your next pizza and let us know which are you favorites.
